The Southern Beltway:  PA-60 to US-22

Final design continues for the Southern Beltway from PA Route 60 to U.S. Route 22, as the PTC authorizes the initiation of residential and commercial acquisition in the project corridor.  The 5.5-mile Findlay Connector will provide access from the Pittsburgh International Airport to U.S. Route 22 between the existing Bavington and PA Route 980 Interchanges.  Interchanges will also be provided at U.S. Route 30 in Findlay Township and at the junction of Ridge Road, Bald Knob and Burgettstown Road near the proposed Findlay Town Center.  Discussions with Allegheny County and other private landowners are also continuing for this project regarding the possible donation of right-of way.  The anticipated cost of construction is $158 million.  Construction will begin in 2003.
