The Mon-Fayette Expressway: I-70 to PA-51 SectionOPEN TO TRAFFIC PLEASE ALLOW A MINUTE OR SO FOR THIS DETAILED MAP BELOW TO LOAD
The map shown above shows a more detailed area that is currently being CONSTRUCTED for this section of the project.
To orient you, West is up and North is to the right. The road travels from I-70 in the South (to the left) and flows north to a terminus at PA-51 near Large in the North (to the bottom right corner). The tolled expressway will pass through Carroll, Union, and Nottingham Townships in Washington County - west of the Monongahela River communities of Charleroi, Donora, Monongahela, and New Eagle - and end in Jefferson Borough. From south to north, interchanges (noted with circles) will provide access to I-70, Coyle-Curtain Road in Fallowfield Township, PA-136 in Carroll Township near Ringgold High School, Finleyville-Elrama Road in Union Township near Gastonville and PA-51 in Jefferson. The selected route reflects alignment changes in Jefferson Borough made as a result of public input during review of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). Current plans call for permanent ramp collection facilities to be built at three interchanges - Coyle-Curtain Road in Fallowfield Township, PA-136 in Carroll Township, and Finleyville-Elrama Road in Union Township. At the ramp facilities, southbound motorists will pay when they get on and northbound motorists will pay when they get off. A mainline toll plaza is to be built in the Peters Creek Valley in Jefferson Borough, south of Route 51 and north of Gill Hall Road. Toll Rates have not been set. |
