The map shown above shows a more detailed area that is currently being studied for this section of the project. Since this project is still in the preliminary alternatives design phase, changes to this map is certainly possible. This map will be updated as we get those changes.
To orient you, Washington is down (south) and Greensburg would be to the right (east). The latest plans for the PA-22 to I-79 project were presented at an open house public meeting held March 12, 1997 at the Cecil Township (Washington County) Fire Hall. Targeted for further study are three alternatives that generally parallel the Allegheny/Washington County like. One passes to the north and east of McDonald Borough while the other two bypass McDonald to the west and south. All share a common interchange with US-22 in Robinson Township, Washington County as well as a common interchange with I-79 in Cecil Township, just south of the Allegheny/Washington County line. |
