THE MON-FAYETTE EXPRESSWAY

    Completion of the Mon/Fayette Expressway would provide faster and safer travel options for thru traffic, particularly commercial vehicles, that now use existing arteries such as PA Routes 51, 88, 837, 48 and 857; as well as U.S. Route 119 and U.S. Route 40 (National Road).

    The Mon-Fayette Expressway is a planned 65-mile highway that will run from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the North to Cheat Lake, West Virginia in the south.   The project is divided into 4 separate sections.  Those sections and their respective status is listed below.  Please click on the links on the left of the table to learn more about that particular section.

Brownsville (US-40) to Uniontown (US-119) Final Design and Right of Way Acquisition Towns:  Brownsville, Republic, Uniontown

Final Design/Right Of Way Acquisition expected to continue until 2005

No date for construction has been set.
